Common Bristle-Nosed Catfish

Bristle-Nosed Catfish (BN Pleco) is a great addition to any tank! These guys are unique fish that resemble a pleco, this is where they get their trade name, the BN Pleco however these guys are not actually plecos but rather catfish. These guys a quite placid fish and do a great job as algae eaters and unlike plecos stay a smaller size of 8cm-11cm as opposed to a pleco that averages out at half a meter long. These guys should be kept in groups a minimum of 3 to a tank. They also adore algae wafers and are great affordable fish living up to 5+ years!

Tank Requirements:

- 70L to accommodate one BN Pleco, and add an extra 30L for each other fish

- They prefer longer tanks compared to taller ones

- They like a temperature of 22°C - 26°C

- pH of 6.5ppm - 7.5ppm

- Some great tank mates include, Angelfish, Corydoras Catfish, Colombian Tetras And Platies

- Always ensure that you do your research before purchasing any aquatic fish so you can ensure you tick all necessary boxes
