Oliver Knott Plant Strength (Palagonite) Plant Superfood is a premium mineral-rich substrate additive designed to strengthen aquatic plants from the roots up. Sourced from natural Australian palagonite, this rare volcanic mineral was formed around 20 million years ago when molten basalt lava flowed into a freshwater lake, creating a unique mineral deposit rich in essential plant nutrients.

Instructions

New Aquariums

• Sprinkle an even layer of Palagonite across the aquarium base.

• Apply a slightly deeper layer in areas where heavy root-feeding plants will be placed.

• Cover completely with your chosen substrate, such as aquasoil, gravel or sand, before planting.

Established Aquariums

• For replanting, create a small recess in the substrate, add Palagonite, cover lightly and plant directly above.

• To remineralise the substrate, expose a small section, add Palagonite beneath the surface and cover with substrate.

💡 Tip: For maximum plant performance, use Plant Strength (Palagonite) alongside Oliver Knott Iron Sand (Colour), Power Growth (Laterite) and Root Development (Volcanic Ash) to provide a complete foundation of colour, growth, root development and essential minerals.

Please Note: Plant Strength (Palagonite) is designed for use beneath the substrate and should remain covered during normal aquarium operation. Avoid disturbing the substrate after filling, as minor cloudiness may occur if the mineral layer is exposed.
