Feeder Fish (Healthy)

Feeder Fish make a great fishy friend or a nutritious snack, to be fed to monsterfish, turtles or axolotls. These are non native fish, and under no circumstances should be released into waterways as they rapidly reproduce and take over thriving ecosystems throughout Australia. All fish were wild-caught and bred in captivity to be used as feeder fish but can also be used as a tankmate. I also use these guys to cycle tanks as they are hardy and can withstand an uncycled tank. This and the added factor that they have a large bioload is what makes them my go-to choice of fish for doing these activities.

Tank Requirements:

- 40L to accommodate 4 fish, and add an extra 10L for each other fish

- They prefer longer tanks compared to taller ones

- They like a temperature of 0.5°C - 27°C

- pH of 6.5ppm - 8ppm

- Some great tank mates include, goldfish, koi, swordtails and platies

- Always ensure that you do your research before purchasing any aquatic fish so you can ensure you tick all necessary boxes
